Kybele Receives $20,000 Support from IASP

The International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP) headquartered in Seattle, WA has awarded Kybele a grant totaling $20,000.  The purpose of the IASP Initiative for Improving Education grant is to fund travel and clinical training including pain eduction for three Kybele projects:  One in Ghana ($12,000); one in Armenia ($4,000) and one in Georgia ($4,000).

“There is overwhelming support from the IASP Developing Countries committee for the project, particularly as you mentioned in your reports the use of the funds from IASP being closely related to pain management and relief, as well as the general pain education aspects of the whole project……It is impressive that Kybele has grown from one program in 2004 to seven programs in 2009, with further program expansion being planned for 2010.  IASP is delighted to be a part of this work, particularly where the field of pain is being addressed.”
– Kathy Havers, Grants Coordinator, IASP

Founded in 1973, IASP brings together scientists, clinicians, healh care providers and policy makers to stimulate and support the study of pain and to translate that knowledge into improved pain relief worldwide.  Currently IASP has more than 6,500 members from 123 countries and in 82 chapters.

This is the second grant Kybele has received from the IASP.  We are overwhelming grateful for their support.
